M.I.A.

1 of my Mandala adult coloring books arrived! After seeing a fellow TTC Instagram sister using one, I ordered 2 of them off Amazon a few weeks ago.  Unfortunately, the more  popular of the two by reviews, Enchanted Forest, is on back order until July. The one I received is still super cool though, and it’s why I have been MIA more than usual as far as blogging goes.

Those of you who follow our blog know that I usually blog everyday (in addition to the thought for the day), but since I got my hands on this book, its been taking up my usual blogging time slot.  I just can’t help myself, coloring these designs is rather addictive. Here is one of my favs so far:

To be honest, I wasn’t sure how this whole coloring deal would work out for me, but I am seeing that it alleviates much stress while encouraging my creativity to come out. It’s also pretty relaxing, as you cannot think of anything other than coloring the Mandala when you are coloring it! In other words, no thoughts of IF, IVF, or RPL creep their way in. In addition, it takes quite a bit of patience to nicely color one, another skill I have been working on acquiring more of the past few years.

I do have a slight dilemma though. I find myself already desiring more coloring pencils.  I originally bought a 24 pack of Prisma Coloring pencils which was about 40 bucks (not cheap). These pencils are great, & I want to stay with the brand, I just need more color options.    For example, I would like to be able to color a Mandala all blue, with 3 or 4 different shades of blue. With the 24 pencils I currently have that isn’t possible because they are all pretty much entirely different colors.  Larger packs of these pencils come in 36, 48, 120, even 200.  I made a deal with myself to wait until the Enchanted Forest arrives to purchase more pencils.

I must also tell you that my time is being occupied by a little gardening. I have always wanted a garden. When I was little, I used to love picking tomatoes in the garden.  Both of my parents are decent green thumbs.  And let’s face it, starting a garden means there would be LIFE growing! Something we can watch full circle from seedling to plant.  So, I started reading up on gardening and got a few tips.  Since summer can be a tricky time to start a garden, we decided to go with tomatoes as they are heat lovers.  The seedlings have already sprouted in just 1 week!  Ill take this as a good sign.

We planted some herbs in containers too.  To be exact, chives, parsley, basil, & oregano.  A few of these tiny babies have already sprouted in the past week as well.  Cant wait to season our food up with these!

It’s been great living life again. I hope that my TTC sisters out there are also enjoying their lives in the midst of their storms. I have made a promise to never let myself stop enjoying life again when TTC. Looking back, I see that I let go of things I loved and focused solely on TTC.  So much that I didn’t even know who I was anymore.  I am happy to report I am finding a new & improved me, & so far, I really like her.

  1. I am so glad you are doing things you enjoy again!! And your coloring is awesome!! I color with our foster princess sometimes and it’s relaxing…it would be more relaxing if she didn’t talk so much though while we color. Hehehe
