What is Infertility Anyways?

Infertility can mean a number of different things, depending on who you ask.  If you ask a doctor, they will probably give you their textbook definition: “anyone who has been unsuccessful at achieving a pregnancy after 1 year of trying.”  If you ask your friend, she might tell you it means never achieving (or sustaining for that matter) a pregnancy at all.  Ask your co-worker and you could possibly hear that infertility encompasses years of seeing numerous specialists, undergoing various tests & procedures in order to achieve a pregnancy.  To us, infertility can mean all of these things and more.  So, we invite those who struggle with infertility, or know someone who struggles or has struggled with infertility to follow this blog.  We dedicate it to our 7 year battle with the nasty, evil infertility demon that strikes those who may least expect it.

  1. A very beautiful story Angela. You are both wonderful people and I know that you will have a family some day even though it seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Love you
